Absolutely lovely atmosphere. All the people here have been so friendly. Nicole Bowman is the only person I let touch my hair now. She's done such an incredible job managing my hair type and teaching me the best ways to care for my hair at home.

Annie is a treasure, I have very long curly hair that I wear naturally nearly all of the time, it can be kind of difficult find someone who can give my hair some TLC without disrupting my curl pattern and making things frizzy. Annie is 100% that person and I love coming in because I always know I’ll get to relax and leave feeling and looking really awesome.Nicole is wonderful too, she cuts my oldest son’s (5.5yrs) and my husband’s hair and they always look *way too cool* after she gets them squared away. I also love how patient and kind she is to my son, he really loves to come see her and I really appreciate how careful she is when she’s cutting his hair!Y’all don’t sleep on Blackheart!

Technically, I did not use this business. I had my appointment scheduled for a MONTH. Was happy and excited, because the pictures online appear to show that these ladies know what’s up. And maybe they do… HOWEVER, they ask you to respect their time and cancel prior to 48 hrs before your appointment. Cool. But my Wednesday appointment was canceled on the Friday before my Wednesday appointment. I would originally be ok with this and shrug it off thinking that maybe they had a family emergency or something, but I went back in to see that my spot (that was JUST canceled) was booked. This tells me that she probably overbooked herself… it happens, but a little customer service goes a long way. If I had made that mistake I would’ve reached out and asked if another day and time works better, but no. When I received the link to “contact them” it redirected me to their booking page (basically asking me to make another appointment). I’m sorry, but if you want me to respect your time by feeing me half of what the original service costs if I cancel my appointment 2 days or less prior then my time should be respected too. I live an hour away and have a 4 month old baby, so I had to PLAN this. Since it played out this way I will never attempt to book again. I think it was the universe steering me away from this place. If you do book with them I’d have a plan B in place. I hope this helps someone ✌️.*Update*They have since reached out to me, and made me aware of the circumstance. It was an honest mistake. I am happy they reached out! I will be heading in for my first haircut with them soon!!! Will update the stars after the appointment once I can give a full review.Nicole did a wonderful job on my hair! She was very professional. I have been having some hair regrowth concerns since having my daughter, and she even gave me recommendations for that. Once I got home my 10 year old son told me that he likes my new hair wayyyy better- me too bud… me too (kids don’t lie). My # advice now would be if your appointment gets canceled CALL THE BUSINESS and speak with them… it was probably a mistake or something came up. Would recommend! ✌️

The best hair cut I ever had was done by Annie, I traveled 2 1/2 hours to get a cut by her. Perfect everytime!!

My new go to salon in Kingsport! The decor is awesome, you can book online which is so convenient and Charnell is the best if you're looking to chop off your hair or interested in a cute cut! Also, they offer so many other services too.

I have been looking for a good hairdresser for two years now since mine I had moved away. I found Racheal and she is wonderful I can’t rave enough about here !! She’s my girl now! She highlights and cuts my hair just right every time and I’m very happy with it!

Good value, great atmosphere. Nicole was fast and friendly - did a phenomenal job on my haircut. I think they both take walk-ins (if they have availability) and do appointments. The appointment process gave automatic text message reminders, which I found helpful.

This salon is amazing. I had my hair cut and colored by Kate and she did fabulous work. Everybody there was really friendly, the ambience of the whole place is rad, AND my hair looks fantastic. I'd give them 10 stars if google would let me.

Today was my first time at this salon and I was highly impressed. There were so many things going on but it was very quiet and easy to communicate.I have been looking to get a design shaved in my hair for months and found Nicole. She showed me ideas to pick from and then did her own take on it which I love! I will definitely be back!

Absolutely LOVE my hair and my stylist, Rachael, was amazing while getting rid of my roots and making my hair look natural again! She listened and worked hard!The salon is clean and professional. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere was very nice and pretty the lady Rachel that cut my hair was friendly but i took photos in from my previous cut that i wanted again and asked her if she was sure she knew what an inverted bob was she said yes but SHE DID NOT she butchered my hair its so short and very uneven i cant fix it .ive been devastated n cried i called asked to speak with owner or manager the woman said shed have her call back but she did not.now im stuck with this hair and out $40

This location is full of talent. I can always count on them to take care of what I need. I am always wanting to change my hair and have something different and Annie has done a fantastic job in accommodating my ever so changing mind. They did a consult to ensure that what I had in mind had adequate time to complete. That valued my time and investment, and I appreciate those efforts. We talk before each appointment scheduling to ensure that my appointments stay booked in advance so that we can accomplish what we planned for. Besides the talent, this staff works hard to go above and beyond to provide for others and have adapted to new ways to accommodate needs since the pandemic and long before. I enjoy my time spent at Blackheart every appointment and they deserve their accolades.

I've been here a couple times already and I love it more and more each time. It's a very chill environment and so so welcoming.The FREE consultation was a life saver with my first experience there. Initially went somewhere else that was going to bleach my hair and when Annie looked at my hair the stylist repaired it AND still achieved a look I loved. I enjoy coming here so much that I actually have an appointment TODAY! made it last week! So quick!

Unbelievably rude. They require a “consultation” before they’ll do your hair. They won’t schedule you for an appointment before they do this “consultation.” Let me be clear- I’ve gotten my hair done EVERYWHERE, and this is not standard business practice. I explained I simply don’t have time to come in for a consultation because of my work. I offered to email them a photo of my hair. They refused to work with my schedule. I’m not going to take time out of my work day to drive 30 minutes for something that’s not an actual appointment. It’s absolutely unbelievable that they would insist on this idiotic policy when even high end salons in DC or NY don’t make you jump through such ridiculous hoops.

I had my first visit today at BlackHeart, first of all I love the aesthetic of the place. When you first walk to the entrance, it’s like a greenery garden lounge. The building inside is SO unique and rustic, it’s all old bricks and it’s laid out like a loft. It’s so open and it feels like such a good environment. I had Nicole as my hairdresser for an Opalex treatment, cut & style. She was amazing! She was so nice and talked to me the whole time, while making sure I was comfortable. She took her time to figure out exactly it was that I wanted instead of looking at a picture one time and cutting it. My hair looks amazing! Thank you Nicole. I know this was a long review but I wanted to leave my entire feels on this place. I will be back! 🙂💛

I love coming here for all my beauty needs. Amanda does my eyebrows perfectly. Annie has been maintaining my hair for over 3 years now and she does pure magic. All of the ladies in the shop are so sweet and it has the absolute best atmosphere of ANY salon I have ever been in.

I have been a client at Blackheart Salon for about a year now. In that time I have gotten manicures, waxing services, hair coloring, shampoos, cuts, and styling. I have been far more than satisfied with each service and general experience with each visit. The stylists and technicians are an eclectic group that provide not only exceptional services but create a fun, fresh, welcoming, relaxed environment. This is not your Momma's (or Grandma's beauty parlor) BUT Momma and Grandma will be equally welcomed and will likely enjoy themselves here just as much as you and your young ones.

Blackheart is a pretty chill place that does great work with hair of all kinds. The atmosphere is pretty cool. If you like lots of plants, art, and brick walls, then you're really going to feel at home there. Nicole is an awesome barber. She does hair and beards, and has been one of the best barbers I have ever been to. I frequently get my head shaved and beard trimmed by her. She does great work.
